The Drewry Chapter of PRSSA was founded at The University of Georgia in 1969 by a group of public relations students. Steve Ellis was the organization’s first president. The chapter, which operates through Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication, is the largest chapter of PRSSA in the nation with more than 250 members. Dr. Betty Jones is the current faculty advisor, and Jessica Laiti serves as the professional advisor.

The Drewry Chapter hosts a variety of events, activities and trips for its members throughout the year. Events include:

• PRofessional CONNECTION is an annual public relations conference where professionals from the Atlanta area connect with UGA students. The event features panel sessions, a career fair, opportunities for resume critiques and a luncheon. This year, PRSSA is teaming up with AD Club to put on ADPR Connection.
  
• PR Workout helps UGA student organizations learn PR skills in the areas of event planning, fundraising, member recruitment, advertising and design, media relations, social media and community relations.
• Washington D.C. Agency Tour is an opportunity offered to chapter members to visit PR agencies and network with professionals and government officials in the nation's Capitol. 
• Guest Speaker Nights are held twice a month in conjunction with meetings and feature PR professionals from various backgrounds, allowing students to learn more about the field. 
• Mentoring Event is organized by the mentoring committee and includes an informal panel discussion about mentoring relationships, professional networking, interview techniques and resume and portfolio development.
• Member Appreciation Night honors members for their hard work and involvement in PRSSA throughout the semester.
